about the artist
Hencer Molina's works escape categorization, even when the subject of his paintings appears innocuous at first sight: A chair in the middle of a room suddenly takes a life of its own, a cityscape changes as you move from one area of the room to another; nothing is still, nothing is what it appears to be. Molina's rigorous training in Buenos Aires, where he resides, as well as in Paris, France, has allowed him to free himself from convention and create works that play with the viewer's sense of space and perspective. Molina has participated in many group and solo shows in Argentina, France, Canada, and Columbia, his birthplace. He has won many prizes and teaches at the National Higher Institute for the Arts in Buenos Aires.
