jessie morgan
about the artist
Jessie Morgan’s are meditative works, comprised of overlapping images from disparate sources in nature. The organic images reference things above, on and below the surface. Water, wind, sand, seeds, and sky are some of the elements considered, as are broader themes such as light, seasons, and cell generation. Morgan first creates a textured surface that may resemble the ocean floor, or skin close up. She then applies, blends, and removes many layers of paint to represent both a macroscopic and microscopic view of life forms.
The artist’s work is currently in the collections of General Dynamics Corporation, Harvard Medical School, First Marblehead Corporation and Sullivan and Worcester, LLP, among others.
